Intrabiliary rupture (IBR)is the most common and potentially fatal complication of Hepatic cysticechinococcosis (HCE) Early diagnosis and treatment of IBR is very important, since mortality is high when obstruction of the biliary ducts occurs, leading to ascending cholangitis and septicemia.
