Description
Summary:Global warming or often called global warming is an increase in the average temperature of the atmosphere, oceans, and land of the earth. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes that most of the increase inglobal average temperatures since the mid-20th century is likely due to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases due to human activities through the greenhouse effect. The heat energy released by the condenser is one of the sources of global warming. Sources of heat continue to increase along with the increasing demand for air conditioners (AC) in apartments, housing and offices in Indonesia. Utilization of waste energy from the condenser is needed to reduce global warming and prevent damage to the earth in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to take energy conservation measures by utilizing heat energy from the exhaust of outdoor air conditioners. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in pipe length on the temperature increase in the water used as the condenser exhaust heat capture fluid. The temperature rise in the water can be used to determine the input thermal energy, the output thermal energy and the efficiency of heat removal by the heat exchanger made. This research begins by conducting a literature study related to the theory of heat exchanger. The next step is to create a research design. The research design contains all things related to research. After the research design is completed, the research implementation begins. The first step is to prepare tools and materials. The second step is tool assembly. The third step is testing the performance of the tool. The fourth step is data collection in accordance with the research objectives. The fifth step is an analysis of the research data and drawing conclusions. The longer test time causes the higher water temperature. The length of the pipe does not have a relatively significant effect on the increase in water temperature. This can be caused by heat loss that occurs in the pipe. The longer pipe causes greater in input thermal energy. The longer the pipe causes more heat absorption at the condenser temperature. The longer pipe causes greater thermal energy output. The longer pipe causes more heat absorption at the condenser temperature. The longer pipe causes higher efficiency.
