Summary:The article is devoted to solving the problem in the field of improving the quality of professional training of specialists in automation and informatization of food production. A concept and a prototype (in the form of a web application) of an information system (IS) for controlling knowledge and skills in training specialists in these industries have been developed. The use of IS will allow one: to reduce the labor intensity of the work of trainees and teachers; to improve the accuracy and objectivity of assessing the formation of knowledge and skills; to increase the degree of feedback from trainees during their training. These advantages are largely achieved due to the automatic generation and evaluation of educational works based on the models of the studied objects of professional activity. The prototype of the IS was partially introduced into the educational process at the department of Automated Control Systems for Biotechnological Processes of MSUFP and department of Information Technologies and Computer-Based Systems of PNRPU in order to increase the efficiency of monitoring the knowledge and skills of students - future specialists in automation and informatization of modern industries. The use of IS allows you to create training courses in accordance with educational and professional standards, teaching methods adopted in each specific organization.
