Description
Summary:Design of a composite plate with different reinforcements under shear loading is considered. Two types of reinforcements with unidirectional fibers and curved fibers are modeled. Curved fibers in the variable stiffness composite plate are located in the direction of the maximum principal stress, and on their basis of inhomogeneous material properties are formed. It is shown that due to the change in the reinforcement from unidirectional fibers to curved fibers, it is possible to reduce the stress concentrations, and this, in turn, leads to a significant increase in the ultimate load of the plate. Thus, the adaptation of fibers to inhomogeneous stress fields due to their curvature makes it possible to increase the efficiency of composites.
