Summary: | Electret and thermal properties of polyethylene and its compounds with 2 or 4 wt. % of montmorillonite which are sufficient stable corona electrets were examined. Addition of montmorillonite to polyethylene leads to elevating its electret properties. Also thermal stability increases because of macromolecules decaying activity due to large interaction between them and hard surface of packing. The transit of polymer compositions to the electret state more increases their thermal stability due to the presence of charge carriers at the interface of the polymer-filler phases, which act as destruction centers for macroradicals formed during the thermal and mechanical destruction of the polymer. |
