Description
Summary:In March 2017 the German Aerospace Centre opened the largest solar simulator in the world – Synlight. Since its opening several enhancements were done to the facility, including an experiment planning tool, which helps scientists and researchers to design their experimental setup. It provides a realistic flux distribution and therefore enables preliminary computations of the effectivity of the design. The planning tool has been validated for several power levels and corresponds well with the measurements. Apart from that, some solar reactors test have been performed in the facility for the last 12 months and the results of which are given in this paper.
