Summary:A new category of composite cathode for solid oxide fuel cells is investigated, containing an oxysulphate oxygen storage material. A stable composite Pr 2 O 2 SO 4 -La 0.6 Sr 0.4 Co 0.2 Fe 0.8 O 3− δ is formed, providing significant improvement in the total polarization resistance, predominantly due to improvements in the processes of interfacial charge transfer and surface exchange.
