Summary: | Per- and polyfloroalkyl substances (PFASs) are in the public spotlight because of mounting evidence for their ubiquity, prevalence in US drinking water, and negative health effects on persons. Although in this article we focus on drinking water guidelines for PFASs across the US, it is important to recognizxe that the contribution of drinking water exposure to the total body burden of PFASs is uncertain, because compelling evidence indicates thgat exposures also occur through diet, dust, and inhalation of air. |
