Summary:In most patients, adrenocortical carcinoma is diagnosed at an advanced stage of the disease. A sudden retroperitoneal hemorrhage may sometimes be the first symptom of the adrenal cancer. We describe four patients with adrenocortical carcinoma diagnosed during a retroperitoneal hemorrhage. A clinical analysis suggests that such a complication is a poor prognostic factor.
