AM-PM Conversion in a W-band frequency quadrupler
The noise conversion properties of a W‐band PHEMT‐based frequency quadrupler have been investigated. The study includes the experimental evaluation of the quadrupler amplitude‐modulated to phase‐modulated (AM‐PM) conversion coefficient and its implications in the phase noise degradation. The results...

Summary: | The noise conversion properties of a W‐band PHEMT‐based frequency quadrupler have been investigated. The study includes the experimental evaluation of the quadrupler amplitude‐modulated to phase‐modulated (AM‐PM) conversion coefficient and its implications in the phase noise degradation. The results show that this effect must be taken into account at offset frequencies where the input PM/AM noise ratio is poor. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
