Summary: | One-dimensional recursive formulas to calculate the blocking probabilities of the different call types in multi-service mobile cellular networks using the multiple fractional channel reservation (MFCR) strategy are derived. MFCR achieves practically the same performance as the optimum call admission control policy in multi-service mobile cellular networks. The "macro states" technique is used to effectively collapse the multidimensional system state representation to a one-dimensional "macro-state" sufficient to analyze all quantities of interest in this letter. Using the macro-state technique reduces the computation of the optimal numbers of reserved channels in MFCR. |
