Summary:The femoral head was then inspected, and a pin guide (toggle guide; Securos) was placed with the end point at the round ligament remnant site on the femoral head. The guide was closed and secured in position along the femoral neck line, and a drill bit smaller than the chosen pin size was used to drill a hole from the lateral aspect of the femur along the femoral neck and out at the round ligament remnant on the femoral head.
