Summary: | Sarcoma 1 implanted on the feet of A/jax mice metastasizes to lymph nodes and only rarely to lungs. Between days 7 and 14, there were enough tumor cells present in the circulating blood or lungs to enable the tumor to be transferred by injecting either blood or lung tissue into the thighs of other mice. Despite the presence of tumor cells in both blood and lungs, pulmonary metastases were rarely seen in mice who died as a result of the primary tumor and its nodal metastases. |
