Targeting lipid-lowering drug therapy for primary prevention of coronary disease: an updated Sheffield table

Ramsay et al estimate that 4.8% of the UK population aged 35-69 years may be candidates for secondary prevention of coronary heart disease (CHD) by statin treatment. This treatment might reasonably be targeted at a CHD event risk of 3% per year.
