Summary: | Ocular sebaceous carcinoma (SC) is an uncommon, aggressive ocular neoplasm with potential for regional and distant metastasis. Early diagnosis and prompt surgical treatment can reduce mortality. To date, little has been known about the usefulness of FDG-PET for diagnosing ocular SC. We report a case of a 63-year-old-woman with an ocular SC, in which significant uptake of FDG was observed in the regional, histopathologically confirmed metastatic lymph nodes. FDG-PET can be used in the staging of ocular SC, especially with asymptomatic distant metastases, if the tumor size is large enough. |
