Summary:Atypical coarctation of the lower descending or the abdominal aorta is a relatively rare disease which occurs in about 0.5 to 2% of all coarctation cases. The majority of these diseases present with circumscribed narrowing of the abdominal aorta. However, we treated a 7-year-old boy with a rare form: a long, diffuse hypoplasia of the thoracoabdominal aorta.
