Description
Summary:Both Anglo American and Mexican American women are entering the work force in increasing numbers. A research study was conducted to compare how Mexican American and Anglo American women handle home and work responsibilities. Because of variations in cultural expectations and values, it was postulated that there would be differences between the two groups. The research focused on the differences in self-perceived coping abilities, the use of formal and informal supports, and requested service needs. The findings indicated that few differences existed between the two groups, although the Mexican American women were more likely to express service needs. These findings are in part explained by the groups' similarity in socioeconomic status and occupation.
