Summary:The future of the postcommunist states in Eastern Europe depends largely on the constitutional framework which is to be chosen. Joining the European Community of the West European countries, if possible at all, or imitating such a structure in the East entails the risk of an all too slow economic recovery for reasons which rest mainly on the corporativism in the European Community. This article investigates under which conditions this process can be accelerated and what effects this will have on the rights of individual freedom. The author refers to ideas he draws from the moral philosophy of the Enlightenment in the 18th century.
