Summary: | The pricing policies of retail pharmacies have come under recent scrutiny by public policy makers. This is a result of the economic value of prescription drugs as a part of the nations's health care bill as well as the potential impact of pricing policies on those segments of the population least able to afford treatment: the poor and the elderly. This study examines pricing and price practices in a metropolitan market and provides empirical evidence regarding the impact of these practices. |
