| Summary: | As linguistics & social science become more integrated, some independent sociolinguistic categories are emerging in an attempt at theory building. The temporal & spatial structures of speech behavior is emphasized, the latter (space-dimension) having been somewhat neglected previously. Both temporal & spatial speech structures have social dimensions.
