Productivity levels in Northern Ireland manufacturing industry: a comparison with Great Britain
The average level of output per head for the years 1974-85 is shown to be about 80% of that of GB, while during the 1920s and 1940s productivity was about 70%. Examines the role of industrial structure as a possible explanation for lower productivity. (Abstract amended)
