Energy budget analysis for Poás crater lake: implications for predicting volcanic activity

The proposition is discussed that crater-lake and fumarole discharge variations may occur before significant signals on seismic and tilt networks are detected. The recent activity of the Poas volcano in Costa Rica is examined.
