Description
Summary:This paper discusses the tire model performance test (TMPT) participation of the LMS International comfort and durability tire model (LMS CDTire). CDTire is a family of three models based on a macroscopic physical description of tires, which is a compromise between scope of applicability and calculation time. A short overview of the CDTire model suite, including parameter identification (PI) software and road surface models, is complemented with application examples of full vehicle simulations utilizing different sub-models and different road surface models. The PI procedure for the TMPT tire, a non-commercial 205/55 R 16 passenger car tire, is reviewed and the results of the TMPT validation and capability tests are discussed.
