Synthesis of nanocrystalline Ni ferrite as a superparamagnetic material

Nickel ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized by the coprecipitation process. The particle size was in the range 2–13 nm, and with aging time showed superparamagnetism for the sample designated NF0 and paramagnetism and ferrimagnetism for samples NF3, NF6, NF9, and NF12. The NF0 nanoparticles with a...

Description
Summary:Nickel ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized by the coprecipitation process. The particle size was in the range 2–13 nm, and with aging time showed superparamagnetism for the sample designated NF0 and paramagnetism and ferrimagnetism for samples NF3, NF6, NF9, and NF12. The NF0 nanoparticles with a spherical shape exhibited superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature with TB = 60 K. The samples NF3 and NF9 after aging treatment displayed superparamagnetic and ferrimagnetic properties with TB = 160 K, which means the superparamagnetic phase decreased with increasing particle size.
