Multiple-Beam-Interference Numerical Calculation of Cavity Mode Spectra: Application to Oxide-Aperture Semiconductor Microcavities
The transmission spectra of a cavity can be calculated using multiple-beam interference of all the fields generated at every step of iterative diffraction calculations. The field distributions of the transverse modes can be obtained at each mode's resonance wavelength. This method is applied to...

Summary: | The transmission spectra of a cavity can be calculated using multiple-beam interference of all the fields generated at every step of iterative diffraction calculations. The field distributions of the transverse modes can be obtained at each mode's resonance wavelength. This method is applied to oxide-aperture microcavities, and the results agreed with experimental data; a good agreement is found for the resonance wavelength of each transverse mode as a function of aperture diameter. 13 refs. |
