Summary: | A mathematical model is developed for the behavior of a small-diameter liquid drop after its collision with a solid surface, where the action of viscous forces can be neglected. The model takes into account the effect of adhesion interaction between the liquid and the substrate. Depending on the Weber number and equilibrium limiting wetting angle, it is shown that three regimes of drop motion are possible: adhesion without rebound, adhesion after rebound, and separation at the end of rebound. Regions of existence of these regimes are determined. |
