Summary:Abstract Background and Aims Evaluating histological outcomes in ulcerative colitis [UC] has become common in recent clinical trials. In this study, we explored the additional value of the combined endpoint of histo-endoscopic mucosal improvement [HEMI] compared with endoscopic improvement [EI] at post-induction [Week 14] and post-maintenance [1 year]. Methods This post hoc analysis included 620 UC participants with available data from the VARSITY trial. Participants achieving post-induction and post-maintenance HEMI [Mayo endoscopic subscore ≤1 and Geboes score
