Neutron absorption of iron-boride layer over low carbon steel

The neutron transmission of iron-boride layers over low carbon steel samples was measured by means of a laboratory device with natural radioactive neutron source. The possibility to calculate the iron-boride quantity and to predict phase composition of intermatallics was demonstrated.
