Summary: | This communication reports on the use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to investigate the dislocation structure of a deformed experimental transition metal alloy. These results complement previous work that described and characerized mechanically this and other similar Nb-based alloys. A comparison is made with TEM results from pure Nb, from other transition metals that assist in the interpretation of the present work, and from single-phase, Nb-based alloys. A comparison with single-phase, ordered alloys has been included, because it may help to understand the differences in alloying behavior between additions of Cr and Al. |
