Description
Summary:Liz Peace is at the vanguard of a resurgent property industry. When she took over the chief executive's job at the British Property Federation three years ago, there were mutterings among some members that the industry had failed to make its mark with the government. While some of the mutterings are still there, the property sector now speaks with a more confident and authoritative voice. Effective and energetic lobbying is the order of the day. The effort is paying off. The property industry is more widely recognised as a vital component of a successful economy. Peace has high hopes for Financing the Urban Renaissance, a training scheme backed by the federation and local government bodies aimed at raising standards in planning and improving the level of understanding between councils and developers.
