Summary: | Ellen Kountz Laupa cashed in on a career in Paris when she landed an internship at J. P. Morgan & Cie SA on its Technology Help Desk. Kountz Laupa's career advancement is discussed. Ellen Kountz Laupa interned at a Paris law firm in 1992 while a senior at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Law School. Laupa thought she had better chances of getting a job in Europe than in the US at the time. She mailed out more than 150 resumes, marketing her years of investment classes and college concentration in public sector financing. Her diligence paid off when she landed an internship at J.P. Morgan & Cie S.A. in Paris on its Technology Help Desk. Last year she was promoted to vice president of international capital markets. |
