Summary:Besides the sporadic use of MDPV, he had a 5 year history of regular recreational use of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and occasional intake of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (commonly known as ecstasy). In our patient, the source and route of infection, as well as the number of transmitted virus particles, might have contributed to the severity of the disease.
