Summary: | Criminological study on China and in China is not new. The development of Chinese criminology since the beginning of the 20th century has been well noted in the scholarly literature (e.g., [4, 11, 29]). This special issue is an attempt to showcase scholarships that explore the new frontier in criminological research in China. The contributors of this special issue are mostly Chinese diaspora - a group of U.S. trained criminologists, who took their training to practice by collecting first-hand data on the ground in China or analyzing existing data with a fresh eye for comparative insights. |
