Involvement of dorsal striatal α1-containing GABAA receptors in methamphetamine-associated rewarding memories

Highlights • GABAA α1 subunit was down-regulated in the Dstr but not other regions in METH CPP. • Expression of GABAA α1 was related to METH rewarding memory but not drug effect. • Activation of α1-containing GABAA receptors in the Dstr abolished METH CPP.
