Description
Summary:A model of the irreversible dual cycle applied to internal combustion engines is established. In this study, the specific heat of the working fluid depends on the temperature. The irreversible processes of compression and expansion are expressed by real isentropic processes. Thermal losses through the cylinder walls as well as mechanical losses by friction are taken into account. A numerical calculation of the efficiency and the power was achieved by taking into account initial conditions, for various values of the compression ratio, the isentropic efficiency of compression and expansion as well as characteristics of mechanical frictions allow an analysis of the performances of an internal combustion engine by a realistic approach. A synthesis of results allows us to study limit cases Otto and Diesel cycles for the various values of the parameters of decision.
