Effects of Paroxetine,a CYP2D6 Inhibitor, on the Pharmacokinetic Properties of Hydrocodone After Coadministration With a Single-entity,Once-daily, Extended-release HydrocodoneTablet

Additionally, we agree with the 2013 finding of Drs. Navani and Yoburn, "following subcutaneous administration, norhydrocodone was ~70-fold less potent than hydrocodone in producing analgesia." Because the circulating norhydrocodone is one third of the parent hydrocodone1 and is also ~70-f...

Description
Summary:Additionally, we agree with the 2013 finding of Drs. Navani and Yoburn, "following subcutaneous administration, norhydrocodone was ~70-fold less potent than hydrocodone in producing analgesia." Because the circulating norhydrocodone is one third of the parent hydrocodone1 and is also ~70-fold less potent than the parent hydrocodone, we consider the contribution of analgesic activity of norhydrocodone from oral hydrocodone to be relatively minimal.
