Summary: | PURPOSE: To determine maximal T-C and P-C relationships of sprint track cyclists in seated and standing positions. METHODS: Maximal Torque-Cadence (T-C) and Power-Cadence (P-C) relationships were calculated for eight junior elite track cyclists from the National Talent Identification and Victorian Institute of Sport track squads. RESULTS: All individual T-C and P-C relationships obtained for both body positions were fitted by linear regressions (r super(2)=0.95 + or - 0.02) and second order polynomials (r super(2)=0.96 + or - 0.01), respectively. Comparisons of the T-C and P-C relationships showed that T sub(0) was higher (209 + or - 2.2N.m vs. 177.0 + or - 3.9N.m, p |
