Description
Summary:When literary agents rejected Sheila Rodgers's first novel in 2011, the 62-year-old published it herself using the pen name Rachel Abbott. Last week she learnt that it and its two self-published sequels had together sold a million copies through Amazon's Kindle store. Rodgers is outselling many well-known authors though she never thought of writing a book until 2010. Writing is her third successful career. Her experience reflects how self-publishing has undergone a revolution in the past few years but her sales figures are remarkable: sales of 3,000 are generally enough to attract the interest of publishers.
