Description
Summary:The deformation behaviors of hot-rolled aluminum borate whisker-reinforced 6061Al alloy composites at different rolling temperatures were studied. The effects of rolling temperature on the microstructure and tensile properties of rolled composites at room temperature (RT) was investigated. The results indicate that hot rolling improves the RT tensile properties, except for elongation. For the rolled composites, the RT tensile properties decrease with increasing rolling temperature. The present study shows that the changes in the interfacial state and matrix grain resulting from hot rolling are responsible for the variety of RT tensile properties observed in rolled composites.
