The Environment and Gender Index (EGI) ranks 72 countries along 27 dimensions divided into six main categories: 1) ecosystems, 2) gender-based education assets-women with bank accounts and access to land, education and credit; 3) governance-civil liberties, property rights and political activity; 4) country-reported activities-inclusion of gender considerations in United Nations conventions/treaties and processes; 5) livelihood-fewer women in poverty, improved access to water and sanitation, food adequacy and fewer women suffering from anemia; and 6) gender-based rights and participation-equal legal rights, women in policy-making positions, women managers. |
