Summary: | Since the early 80's authors of the present report have performed large-scale research in small-scale variations of K/Cl in sea water of some areas of the Pacific using a potentio-metric technique modified for the ship. The data published earlier on large-scale variations of K/Cl in sea water obtained by some authors were not confirmed by us. A decline with respect to the average NW Pacific value of K/Cl was first observed in the area of Kuroshio and the W equatorial Pacific. It amounted to 2-3%, so variations were plus or minus 1.5% with 0.5% reproducibility. |
