Synthesis of Carbocyclic and Heterocyclic β‑Aminocarboxylic Acids

The synthesis of carboxylic and heterocyclic beta-aminocarboxylic acids is reported. There are a number of methods by which these acids can be synthesized, including one that uses an oxygen atom in the ring.
