Description
Summary:The Mostyn gallery in Llandudno is the home of Wales's main contemporary art gallery and is a Grade II-listed building; it was inspired by Lady Augusta Mostyn as the world's first gallery for women artists. It has been expanded to a design by Ellis Williams Architects which needed to be consistent with the principal facade of the original building by George Alfred Humphreys, even though this is itself a hotchpotch of styles. Includes a working detail of "The Tube", which acts as a threshold space between the entrance and the gallery spaces, also connecting the building vertically.
