Description
Summary:The main purpose of this paper is to analyze theinfluence of environmental factors on entrepreneurialactivity, focusing on Latin America, and usingthe institutional approach as theoretical framework.Through a panel data model with information fromthe Global Entrepreneurship Monitor and DoingBusiness, we demonstrate that informal institutions, such as political stability, control of corruption androle models are related to the entrepreneurial activity.Likewise, contrary to the expected results, formalinstitutions, such as procedures and time for startinga new business, and business and entrepreneurialskills, do not have a significant influence on entrepreneurshipin Latin American countries.
