Summary:Many environmentalists are as alarmist as the NGOs that seek to protect nature from introduced species. Having developed around the concepts of the 'equilibrium' and 'stability' of ecosystems, the science of ecology has reinforced a static view of nature. Still imbued with a creationistic ideology, it has not yet taken into account the role of hazard and variability on the introduction of plant- and wildlife in an environment. // ABSTRACT IN FRENCH: Nombre d'écologues tiennent le même discours alarmiste que les ONG de protection de la nature vis-à-vis des espèces introduites. Cet article rappelle que la science écologique, qui s'est développée autour des concepts d'« équilibre » et de « stabilité » des écosystèmes, a contribué à maintenir une vision statique de la nature. Elle reste encore imprégnée de cette idéologie d'essence créationniste, et n'a pas encore intégré le rôle du hasard et de la variabilité de l'environnement dans la mise en place des faunes et des flores.
