Description
Summary:In the following paper we present three different cases of prehepatic portal hypertension. In the first case portal hypertension was caused by arterio-venous fistula, in the second case by stenosis in anastomosis in the portal vein after hepatic transplantation, and in the third case by portal stenosis in a neoplasmatic patient. In each case we applied different radiological interventional procedure, which resulted in excellent therapeutic effect. Minimal invasive, interventional techniques allow elimination of causes and complications of portal hypertension including the most dangerous one - bleeding from oesophageal and gastric varices.
