Summary:IT is a matter of regret that Paley, in his Illustrations of Baptismal Fonts, has not given a single specimen of Welsh ones. The only allusion to them is the following: "No wooden fonts, we believe, are known to exist, if we except that at Chobham, Surrey, which is of lead surrounded by wooden panels, and the interesting example at Efenechtyd, near Ruthin", and which has been figured in the Archaeologia Cambrensis.
