Summary:The paper presents the results of studies to determine the optimal conditions for the hydrochlorination reaction of piperylene with concentrated hydrochloric acid. The experiment procedure is described, graphs of piperylene conversion versus reaction time and molar ratio of C5H8:HCl are given. As a result of the studies carried out, optimal conditions for the process were established, as well as technological methods were identified that made it possible to achieve almost complete conversion of piperylene, while minimizing the amount of waste generated. Based on experimental data, a flowchart of the production of 4-chloro-2-pentene was compiled. The proposed flowchart and the results of studies to determine the optimal process parameters can be used as a basis for the development of industrial technology to produce 4-chloro-2-pentene.
