Description
Summary:An optoelectronic spectral system was developed for monitoring the elimination of uremia markers of low and middle molecular weight during hemodialysis therapy by measuring UV absorption at 285 and 365 nm. The elimination kinetics of AGE products were analyzed using a two-pool model in comparison with the conventional markers for dialysis adequacy. These studies showed that monitoring of optical absorption at 365 nm could be used as an alternative method for assessing hemodialysis adequacy.
