Summary:The design of a thermoelectric system (TES) for the treatment of periodontal diseases by the method of local hypothermia is discussed. Results from experimental studies of a prototype device are presented. Field tests demonstrated the feasibility of using the system in practice, that standard thermoelectric modules (TEM) produced by domestic companies can be used, and the short period of time taken to reach operating conditions.
